It appears even artists in the music industry have been victimised by members of upper management in cases of sexual harassment. Louise Post of Veruca Salt is one of 38 persons who has said James Toback, a Hollywood director, has sexually harassed them.

According to The Music, Veruca Salt has joined the #metoo initiative in social media outlets such as Twitter following Post’s allegations. The band’s Twitter account also added the hashtag “#jamestoback” in their tweet.

Veruca Salt’s support for the initiative began after Post shared her encounter with Toback way back in 1987. According to an interview in LA Times, Post met Toback back when was still studying at Barnard College.

“He told me he’d love nothing more than to masturbate while looking into my eyes,” she told LA Times. She added having to go to Toback’s apartment has become a source of shame for her in the past three decades.

Post also added now has been the first time she has cried about the incident. She said she was grieving for the young Post who had lost her innocence then.

Meanwhile, James Toback has responded to LA Times and denied these allegations that were pointed at him. He said he has never met any of these so-called victims.

It can be remembered that Veruca Salt serves as the guitarist and singer of the United States-based alternative rock band. Fans can remember the Illinois-based band for its grunge and hard rock hits since its conception in 1992. Post is joined by Nina Gordon, Jim Shapiro, and Steve Lack.

Popular studio albums include debut American Thighs, released in 1994. Other albums include Eight Arms to HoldĀ  You, Resolver, and IV. Their recent album, Ghost Notes, was released in 2015.

Post and Veruca Salt are set to have an Australian Tour this February 2018.
